Feeling Dizzy In Bed?
Ever rolled in bed and felt like the whole room was spinning? That sudden wave of dizziness might be caused by something called Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). It’s more common than you think and often easily treated.BPPV affects the inner ear, which plays a key role in balance. Inside each ear are three small fluid-filled canals with a cupula (a teardrop shaped structure). These help your brain detect acceleration. Sometimes, small crystals called otoconia can move into these canals. When you move your head, the crystals start to drift, sending confusing messages to your brain that you are still moving, even after you've stopped.
The result? A short, intense sensation of falling or spinning, often triggered by rolling over, looking up or lying down.
